The Mystery of Wayward Queres is proud to present our newest venture: The Sunday Series!
The Sunday Series is an online weekly Google Meet session from 4-6PM ET, rotating a loose focus based on the week.
If the Plague Years taught us nothing else, we learned that we can be an SCA community online. The Sunday Series is an attempt to make an online real time gathering space for classes and social time. As the world has shifted back to primarily in-person, we felt like we lost some of the advantages that hanging out together from our own homes brought, including reduced gas prices, the ability to share screens, and to have a class for 4 people without 3 of them traveling 6 hours.
Every month, we rotate through the following weeks –
Week 1 – A&S classes, especially those that benefit from screen sharing and possibly slide decks
Week 2 – online body doubling, focusing on filling out officer reports, doing online research, writing documentation, and other at-the-keyboard tasks quietly but with other people around
Week 3 – Service classes, from people with specialized knowledge from all over the kingdom who are too busy working at events to teach at events, for people who have the same problem
Week 4 – Tea & Textiles, being a monthly hangout to work on your sewing, knitting, embroidery, or other work in progress in virtual company to help you focus.
Please join us for our 4 month initial run, as we figure out what works and doesn’t in this combination of schola and community building.
