My friend Matthias von Würzburg got a nice, big, heavy cloak at his elevation to the pelican. For various reasons, including an ongoing pandemic, I was not able to make that event. Several months later, it came up that he didn’t think he’d ever be able to wear that cloak because it was just so heavy that he overheated outside in the cold rain. And then someone linked to a block printed pelican fabric on Etsy, and he also was bemoaning that he couldn’t figure out a use for it.
Matt, I said, would you like a casual rectangular pelican cloak that’s actually light weight? That would be amazing, he said.
This is 45″ wide (because of the lining fabric) and 72″ long, hand sewn, top stitched, wool outer in what Dorr Mill calls their wool ticking and cotton block printed lining.
